Reclaim Your Gut
GI-MAP®
It all begins in the gut
In recent years, scientists have discovered that the gut (gastrointestinal system) is involved in our overall wellbeing at a much higher lever than previously thought! It not only plays a role in our digestion and nutrient absorption, but also affects our mood, sleep, hormones and overall systemic wellness. In fact, it's estimated that 70-80 percent of our immune system is actually in our GI System. In today's environment, gut health is more important than ever!
What is a GI-MAP Test?
The GI Microbial Assay Plus (or GI-MAP®) test is a DNA-based stool test that provides a detailed analysis of your gut microbiome. Your microbiome is the population of bacteria, viruses, and parasites that reside in the gut; good and bad.
This test analyzes the levels of both good and bad bacteria, parasites, viruses, worms, and fungi, as well as immune and digestive markers in your gut.
It also allows us to look for markers of inflammation in your gut along with signs of leaky gut syndrome. The custom protocol we build for you aims to improve digestion, mood, immunity, and overall body function.
As we analyze the results of your test, we focus on eliminating microbes that may be the culprit for a myriad of gut imbalances that lead to systemic illnesses. This “map” allows us to tailor a program that will help restore balance to the biome of your gut.

Science
Why GI-MAP
Unlike other comprehensive stool tests on the market, the GI-MAP can provide practitioners with truly quantitative results.
qPCR offers a much more accurate way to detect and quantify clinically-relevant organisms than standard PCR, culture, microscopy, or DNA sequencing-based methods.
Accurately assessing how much of an organism's DNA is present in a patient's stool sample is essential for helping practitioners to determine the clinical significance of pathogenic organisms and dysbiosis patterns.

How do I get started?
1
Complete a Questionnaire
Let's get on the same page!
To provide you with the best results, we want to learn a little more about your health history and current lifestyle. We also want to know about your overall wellness goals so they can be addressed as we put together your 90-day protocol. You’ll get access to the questionnaire as soon as you’ve selected your package.
2
Complete Your
GI-MAP Test
Once you have selected your package and completed the questionnaire, I will send you the test. There will be very clear instructions on how to collect your stool sample and send it back to the lab. You will pay the lab directly for their analysis of your sample (be sure to check with your insurance, as some plans will cover the test).
Once you mail the test back to the lab it will take 2-3 weeks to get the results and for us to formulate your protocol.
3
Personal Consultation
During the consultation, we will go over your test results in detail and I will explain your custom protocol based on my assessment. Your plan may include diet recommendations, probiotics, herbal supplements, and essential oils to correct the imbalances highlighted by your GI MAP.
4
Protocol
The protocol takes the test results and specifically addresses the imbalances in your gut by removing the bad pathogens, replacing them with good ones and alleviating any inflammation or digestive problems.
5
90 Day On-Going Support
During your 90-day protocol, we will communicate by email as needed to assess your progress, address any symptoms that may arise, and make any necessary adjustments.
6
Post 90 Day Protocol
We recommend re-testing after the first 90-day phase to see how your test results have changed. Once we analyze the results of your second test, we can recommend a maintenance protocol. You will likely feel much better after the initial 90 days, but seeing updated test results allows for a more precise maintenance protocol. Many clients with more severe issues find it beneficial to complete annual or even bi-annual GI mapping to stay on top of their gut health.
7
How Will I Know it's Working
You can expect an improvement in symptoms that you are experiencing. Some results happen faster than others.
We often spend years creating the problems that we have but we want the solution to work in just a few hours or days. Remember, we are working on the root cause of the problem, not just on addressing the symptoms of the problem.
Gut healing can be slow and can take up to one year to have full improvement, however most people see drastic improvement before the end of the protocol!
?
Does This Test Cover Food Allergies
The short answer is no. But, once you heal the gut, food sensitivities tend to improve.
If after your protocol you are still experiencing symptoms, I can help you to get a comprehensive food sensitivity test through LEAP.
If at the beginning of our work together, the symptoms your experiencing seem to be clearly related to certain foods, I can help you to acquire a comprehensive blood test to inform your protocol.
